Solving the Stucco and Window Challenge—Pensacola Beach Project
We are so blessed to live in the beautiful coastal communities of Florida and Alabama! When you're tackling a construction project, especially one right on the water or with stucco exterior walls, choosing the right contractor is absolutely critical to prevent costly water damage.
The Stucco & Window Challenge
If your property has stucco or stucco bands around your doors and windows, listen up! When old windows are removed, it almost always breaks the crucial moisture barrier underneath. Too many contractors will just screw in new windows and rely on only caulk—but in our hot, sunny, and humid climate, that caulk will crack. All it takes is a tiny pinhole to let water seep into your walls and cause significant damage over time.
Our Solution for Long-Term Protection
We just completed a beautiful example of how to do it right on Pensacola Beach!
Instead of taking the easy way, we removed the original stucco bands, ordered the new hurricane resistant impact windows with proper new construction flanges, installed them securely, and then reinstalled the stucco bands. This method ensures your moisture barrier is intact and your home is truly sealed against the elements!
